Areas of Practice

Affirmative Asylum

Individuals who have been persecuted or have a well-founded fear of future persecution on account of their religion, ethnic group, political opinion, nationality or membership in a particular social group might be eligible for asylum from the United States. Asylum generally must be applied for within the first year of entry into the U.S.

If you are considering applying for asylum, please contact an immigration attorney as soon as possible to protect your rights. My firm offers a sliding scale fee without sacrificing quality representation. I can assist with the initial application, a brief that outlines why you need asylum, preparation for the interview, and accompany you to the interview. Additionally, I will look for other possible avenues that would allow you to remain in the US.

Defensive Asylum and Withholding of Removal

The number of defensive asylum cases that are granted have been decreasing and it is essential to include other defensive theories to prevent removal. For those individuals already in the immigration court system, it is important to have an attorney who can guide you through the ever changing rules and procedures.

Anyone who has a hearing scheduled with the Immigration Court should contact an immigration attorney as soon as possible to find out what options are available. Legal representation increases your chance to remain in the US. Because of the possible devastating consequences, I provide lower cost legal assistance so that you do not have to fight this battle alone.

Deferred Action

DACA is a discretionary benefit with a specific set of criteria. Together we can determine if you meet the specific qualifications to file an initial application. I am also able to assist in filing your renewal.

Temporary Protective Status

TPS is a humanitarian benefit available since the 1990 Immigration Act established to aid those who are nationals of a particular country and unable to return due to armed conflict, environmental disasters, or other extraordinary and temporary conditions. These countries are designated by Homeland Security and may change depending on the circumstances.
